How Do I Become a Coach?
People
from all walks of life, all sorts of backgrounds, who are degreed in all kinds
of professions, become coaches. Your first step is to choose an Accredited
Coach Training program. These programs are located all over the world. You
don't necessarily need to choose one in your area since most offer learning via
phone or Web-based options.

What's My Next Step?
ICF highly recommends that new coaches contract a credentialed Coach as a
mentor. If you are coached yourself, you can go into the arrangement with as
many questions as you want answered and you get to see exactly what coaching is
and how it's done.
One of the most important items in becoming a professional Coach is ICF
credentialing. Credentialing offers credibility and validity to you as a
professional and to the profession of coaching itself. The ICF offers three
credentials: Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach
(PCC) and Master Certified Coach (MCC).

What is ICF?
The International Coach Federation is the globally recognized association for
professional coaching. ICF has more than 11,000 members in 70 countries, and
more than 140 local Chapters. ICF provides individual coaches with a platform
to contribute to the future of coaching.
